Students will be learning and applying knowledge of literature and literary devices through daily lesson slides and interactive notebook lessons.

Additionally, they will also be immediately applying their learning by writing literature text analysis responses daily.

Students will be reading daily in their respective Book Clubs and be expected to discuss, question, analyze, and apply skills throughout the unit.

QUARTERLY PAPERS

Woman Tutoring Child

Each marking period we will learn how to write a different style paper.

All papers will consist of the following:

  • Draft, Edit, Revise, and Publish

  • MLA Format

SOCRATIC SEMINAR

Every Marking Period we will be taking the MAP Diagnostic. This test is designed to accurately show your placement and should reflect growth throughout the school year.

Every other week students will engage in Socratic Seminar.

Students will come prepared with H.O.T. Questions to pose to the group and respond with their answers while citing textual evidence in order to show their "Thinking."
